This class is filled with S.T.E.A.M activities to get us feeling like we are the best witches we can be—just in time for Halloween! We will craft, cackle and do "all things witchy."
Class experience
Hocus pocus! This class is full of witchy fun! By the end of class, we will make sure that we have everything we need to be a stellar witch! It is full of black, brooms, cats, spiders, potions and more! Our time together will allow us to craft a black cat, make a spider out of play dough, design a better broomstick, and do 2 experiments! We will sing songs, practice our best witch voices/cackles and have a good time, all the while practicing our art, engineering, and science...
Students will put their art and creative skills to use. They will problem solve and use design skills. They will experiment.
*black cat: black and white paper, scissors, glue, markers/crayons *spider: play dough, sticks/toothpicks/pipe cleaners for legs, googly eyes/beans/etc. for eyes *design a better broomstick: paper, pencil, broom, recycled materials (toilet paper rolls, boxes, bottles, bottle caps, etc.) that could be used to redesign/improve the broom. *witch's brew: vinegar, baking soda, food coloring, multiple containers, spoons. Add ins: glitter, stones, sticks, flowers, leaves, etc *witch's brew #2: bowl, cornstarch, water in a container, food coloring,
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
With all activities, a parent should be nearby to assist if necessary.
