In this course we will focus on activating prior knowledge and what that language arts concept means. Whenever you read, you bring what you already know about the subject to the text. You use prior knowledge to make sense of the new information you read. Together with the teacher students will read "May the Force Be with You!" which discusses science concepts of gravity and friction in sports. The second article we will read is, "Natural Forces: Electricity and Magnetism" that covers the concepts of electricity and magnetism. For each article we will answer 5-6 questions together. Teacher will use a PowerPoint to walk through the lesson. There is no homework outside of this course. This is a one time course.
