Students will 1. Improve their understanding of US geography through the history hidden in the lines, contours, and culture that make up the U.S. map. 2. Explain how cultural features, traits, and diffusion help define regions and analyze changes in regions over time. 3. Identify political boundaries based on physical and human systems. 4. Explain how human actions modify the physical environment within and between places, including how human-induced changes affect the environment. 5. Explain ways geographic features and environmental issues have influenced historical events.

1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
