Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 8
This is an instructional class where I will be teaching you the names and function of the human heart.
This will be the first of a series of classes that will teach students how our bodies are wonderfully made and also I will cover some health tips that we can use to live healthier lives.

For this class you can expect a presentation using slides with a step by step explanation by myself showing and detailing the names of the structures that compose the human heart. The students will follow along and using the picture that will be provided for the students that sign for the class they will complete the blank names of the structures while I cover them and they can also write notes about their functions.

Although this class will be mostly taught by myself, students are welcome to ask questions and share their concerns. There will be different parts during the lecture where students will be asked to share their thoughts and draw some of the material so they can better engage and remember the material. I enjoy classes where students show their interest by asking questions and share any previous knowledge that they may know and want to share. However participation is not mandatory. No previous knowledge of the material is necessary, just a willingness to learn and an interest in the information given.

The course will be as follows:
- Class Rules
- Class Introductions and greetings
- Overview
- Left Heart: rich blood
- Right Heart: poor blood
- What's a valve?
- Health tips
- Q&A
- Goodbyes

Required experience or knowledge learners need:
- Test Zoom: turn off / turn on the microphone and video.
- Use raise hand button.

*** For the best learning experience, please have your child (if possible) take this lesson in a quiet place where he/she can keep his/her camera on. This will help me make sure that the information is being understood as well as make the class more fun and engaging. ****
Learning Goals
Students will learn the names of the structures of the human heart as well as their function. This will better prepare them for future lessons if they ever wish to pursue a career in health.
