Homework
1 hour per week. We will also do a have a little project assigned to work on that we can discuss in the online classroom discussion. Also we will brainstorm where each student will make a drawing and brief description of something they would like to invent based on the animals we discussed in class.

From their incredible flight mechanics to their superior navigation skills, birds possess a wealth of knowledge that scientists and engineers have tapped into to improve our own technology and innovation.

Throughout this engaging class, students will explore the principles behind biomimicry and learn how scientists study birds to unlock their secrets. We will delve into the intricate design of bird wings and feathers, examining how their unique structures provide lift, maneuverability, and efficiency. Students will gain a thorough understanding of the aerodynamics of flight and the principles that enable birds to soar through the skies effortlessly.

This one week self paced class is designed to be interactive and engaging, with a variety of activities, discussions, and multimedia resources to enhance the learning experience. We will help to engage the learners and make the information more receptive. We will also do a have a little project assigned to work on that we can discuss in the online classroom discussion. Lesson 1:
Biomimicry - Birds
 Through interactive activities like paper airplane construction and bird watching, young learners can discover how the unique characteristics of birds influence human design and engineering, fostering a deeper understanding of biomimicry. 

Class #3 - We will discuss 3 specific birds (Owl, Emperor Penguin & Other Birds) and how human inventions have been inspired by them.

Supply List
Students will need paper, pencil and some basic coloring pencils, markers or crayons. Whichever is easier to attain. A worksheet will also be provided weekly for taking notes.
