Thank you for checking out my classes. Sign up now and get $4 off your first class with coupon code PRACT2MG074 . Each week in this ongoing class, we will cover different aspects of the human body. We will talk about both the anatomy and the physiology of that particular aspect. Each class can stand alone and there is no prior experience needed. Class will begin by greeting the students and having introductions. Then I will start to describe how that particular part of the body works. During this time, I encourage students to ask questions and participate in an interactive discussion. I do not usually mute my learners unless there is background noise. Where appropriate, we will also discuss how each aspect of the human body compares to the same, or similar aspect in different animals around us. I will be using slides as I provide this information. There will be handouts provided prior to each class that can be worked on in class, or afterwards. Class length is approximate and may vary depending on student participation. Week of Jan 30th - our kidneys and how we get rid of waste Week of Feb 6th - Our immune response: what happens when germs attack? Week of Feb 13th - The five senses Week of Feb 20th - Our skin and how it protects us Week of Feb 20th - Our lungs and how we breathe Week of Feb 27th - Our muscles and how we move Week of Mar 6th - Our bones and how we maintain our structure Week of Mar 13th - Our heart and how our blood circulates Week of Mar 20th - Our brain and how we operate Week of Mar 27th - our stomach and how we digest food

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello everyone, My name is Cathy and I love to teach. I always have. I am now homeschooling my 6 year old daughter, and I am loving it.
I am a registered nurse. I have worked, in the ICU, for the last 20 years. A very big part of my job, is to teach my patients about what is going on inside of their bodies. I also educate them about how the treatment that has been ordered for them, will affect them. I am constantly changing up my methods of education based on the age and education level of my patient. I have worked with people from both ends of the age spectrum.
I am also always learning and looking for ways to improve. In addition to my nursing degree I also received a degree in liberal arts. There is still, so much that I want to learn! I believe that there is always more to learn. I have continued to go to school and take classes my entire career.
For the past 15 years, I have also trained in wing Chun kung-fu. I have taught classes, during that time period, for both children and adults. In 2013 I was inducted into the Eastern USA international black belt hall of fame.
I am planning to teach classes that deal with different aspects of the medical field. Everything I teach about will be something that I have dealt with first hand, up close and personal. One of the classes, I will be teaching, is an ongoing course about different diseases and disorders of the human body. The experience to teach on these topics comes from my first hand experience of dealing with patients that have suffered from one or more of them. As well as providing medical care, treatment, and education to these patients.
I will also be teaching a basic ongoing course about the human anatomy to elementary students as well as middle school students. Each of my elementary level classes will first be vetted and approved by my five year old daughter. She loves to help me!
I am really looking forward to seeing you in my classes. Thanks 😊
