The more active students are in discussions, the more we can build a sense of community. 2) Quizzes: Students will have the option of completing fun quizzes via an external website (Kahoot) each week. No registration or account necessary! 3) Fun Activities: There will be fun activities each week where students can complete and post their results in the classroom. Sharing with each other will be a great way for students to interact and see creativity within the class. 4) Supplementary Videos: If needed, I will be posting supplementary videos in the class to coincide with the pre-recorded video. Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello everyone, My name is Cathy and I love to teach. I always have. I am now homeschooling my 6 year old daughter, and I am loving it.
I am a registered nurse. I have worked, in the ICU, for the last 20 years. A very big part of my job, is to teach my patients about what is going on inside of their bodies. I also educate them about how the treatment that has been ordered for them, will affect them. I am constantly changing up my methods of education based on the age and education level of my patient. I have worked with people from both ends of the age spectrum.
I am also always learning and looking for ways to improve. In addition to my nursing degree I also received a degree in liberal arts. There is still, so much that I want to learn! I believe that there is always more to learn. I have continued to go to school and take classes my entire career.
For the past 15 years, I have also trained in wing Chun kung-fu. I have taught classes, during that time period, for both children and adults. In 2013 I was inducted into the Eastern USA international black belt hall of fame.
I am planning to teach classes that deal with different aspects of the medical field. Everything I teach about will be something that I have dealt with first hand, up close and personal. One of the classes, I will be teaching, is an ongoing course about different diseases and disorders of the human body. The experience to teach on these topics comes from my first hand experience of dealing with patients that have suffered from one or more of them. As well as providing medical care, treatment, and education to these patients.
I will also be teaching a basic ongoing course about the human anatomy to elementary students as well as middle school students. Each of my elementary level classes will first be vetted and approved by my five year old daughter. She loves to help me!
I am really looking forward to seeing you in my classes. Thanks 😊
