Are You Prepared? Learn How to Survive Extinction Level Events!
How Many of the 8 Smarts, or Multiple Intelligences Do You Have? (8-10 Yo)
Class experience
Students will learn that everyone has at least one or more smarts or intelligences that are their strongest, which can help them to be more successful. They will use a worksheet to assess the eight smarts/multiple intelligences: Verbal-Linguistic ("Word Smart") Logical-mathematical ("Number/Reasoning Smart") Visual-Spatial ("Picture Smart") Bodily/Kinesthetic ("Body Smart") Musical intelligence ("Music Smart") Interpersonal ("People Smart") Intrapersonal ("Self Smart") Naturalist ("Nature...
Students will learn how to fill in a questionnaire, tally up their own results and then as an optional activity, to graph them using a simple bar graph. They will learn to interpret their strengths and how to use them going forward. They may discover intelligences that they may want to improve upon if they wish.
I have been doing these kind of informal assessments on many students in the past 10 years and they feel so good to know what their smarts are and how many there can be, not just in reading, writing and arithmetic! This will help them to use both the right and the left sides of their brains while they are learning.
Print out the 3 page handout before class if possible (pls request it from me 24 hours after enrolling). If not, they will see it on the screen.
Please provide pencil crayons only if you are able to print this worksheet and if there is time left, I will show them how to color the bar graph which is an optional activity.
