Calling all young inventors and curious tinkerers - this isn't another "how to print things" class! Join me in my workshop as we uncover the secrets of how 3D printers actually operate. You'll have a close-up view of everything as we examine every system and component. We'll walk through system operation, take things apart, and fill our mental inventor's toolbox. As we get a peek inside the designers' minds, you'll develop an understanding of how the various systems work, and be armed...
We'll learn STEM concepts like: - How each subsystem functions in the overall operation of the device - Why components were designed in the ways we observe - What materials were chosen to create components and why - How different components were manufactured - How aspects of the machine might be improved ...and a lot more.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
