How Do You Do? Ratios and Proportions

In this two week class, students will learn how to write and solve ratio and proportion problems (ratio table, equivalent ratios, unit pricing, graphing) using real world scenarios.

Class Experience

The students will learn how to set up and solve ratios and proportions, how to find an equivalent ratio, complete ratio tables, complete 1st quadrant graphing, and how to find a unit price..
My expertise and teaching experience in teaching math include: State licensed and certified K-12 math for more than ten years. I have taught taught Algebra, Geometry and Algebraic Thinking (high school) middle school (grades 5 & 6) elementary (grades 3,4) Adult Basic Education math for returning students (GED).
Student will be given homework assignments to support  and provide reinforcement to instruction, Homework may come in the form of worksheets, digitally linked mini assessments. Assignments can be submitted via email or digital input and students will receive in class feedback or individualized feedback in a breakout room.
Students will need a notebook, pencil, ruler, calculator, graphing paper. You can find graphing paper samples online that you can print.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Student progress will be assessed by informal assessment, class participation, submitted assignments, and question and answer sessions.
1 hour 50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
This class will incorporate the use of (CAI) computer aided instruction. We will use a variety websites to facilitate student engagement and participation. Websites will include, but are not limited to, Kahoot, IX,. Prezi, Gimkit, and Google Form, and Quizlet.
