This class will show students the mechanics of adding and subtracting fractions including how find a common denominator, reduce to lowest terms, convert mixed numbers and improper fractions.

Class Experience

Students will improve their understanding of how to add and subtract fractions, convert mixed numbers and improper factions.
My expertise and teaching experience in teaching math include: State licensed and certified K-12 math for more than ten years. I have taught taught Algebra, Geometry and Algebraic Thinking (high school) middle school (grades 5 & 6) elementary (grades 3,4) Adult Basic Education math for returning students (GED).
Homework and handouts to provide support and practice for what was learned in class maybe assigned. Assignments and handouts   will be delivered through digital platform for completion and submission.
The students will need a calculator, pencil, paper (for notes) highlighter, mini dry erase board and marker (available at dollar store).
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Many students experience extreme anxiety when they are confronted with a test. This is especially true when you say math test. With that in mind, progress will be assessed and monitored by class participation, independent and group practice, questions and answers, and submission of  handouts.
1 hour 50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
This class will incorporate the use of (CAI) computer aided instruction. We will use a variety websites to facilitate student engagement and participation. Websites will include, but are not limited to, Kahoot, IX,. Prezi, Gimkit, and Google Form.
