Class Experience

The most moving words in the songs we love the most were not created by chance. Songs that create intense feelings in us, create vivid pictures in our minds and/or make us think of those we love (or loved) are created by people who know the craft of writing. In this class, we will explore the words in some of our favorite songs and see what intentional poetic devices the writers employed to help create such a powerful song.
In this video lesson, we will learn about poetic devices. Students will be given opportunity to interact when we sing, read and/or listen to the songs we love and identify what tools the writers used to make the song so beautiful We will see that eventually, we too can create such words of beauty in our own poems and songs.
STUDENTS MUST LOVE SONG LYRICS TO PARTICIPATE I IN THIS CLASS.
A submission of the lyrics of your favorite song at least one day before class will be helpful.

Learning Goals
