Fall is here! It's pumpkin time! In this interactive course, students will learn about the pumpkin life cycle by listening to the teacher read a nonfiction book. Before reading, I will explain to students the difference between fiction and non-fiction books. Students will learn that non-fiction books teach us facts and we can use these type of books to learn about new topics. While reading, I will ask students to recall certain facts from the book. After the story, students will play an interactive game (on powerpoint) to help them remember the stages of a pumpkin’s life cycle. Finally, students will color each stage of the pumpkin life cycle and then put the stages in order on their own pumpkin (orange construction paper).

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there! I'm Ms. Danielle and I am so excited to be able to teach so many different learners here on Outschool!
I received my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education and Leadership back in 2009. I taught for 10 years in public schools; I taught students in grades PreK-2nd. For the last 4 years, I have been teaching small group phonics classes and tutoring learners K-3 in reading and writing. I love creating fun, meaningful, and engaging lessons for young learners and hope to instill a love of learning within my students.
Besides teaching, I enjoy being outdoors, bike riding, hiking, going to the beach, reading, and doing yoga. I have a 7 year old son, and a VERY fluffy Goldendoodle named Bruce Wayne. Of course, he was named after my son's favorite superhero; Batman!!
I hope to see you in one of my classes!
