Social-Emotional health is a crucial component of development in the early years. In this fun and engaging class I will use puppets, along with emotion pictures and a book to navigate my students through the many emotions they could be feeling. In this class we will discuss: Our Feelings: Using pictures of emotions and our webcams, we will practice making faces to express different emotions. What to do when you feel...: We will discuss ideas of what you can do when we feel angry, scared, sad, happy or excited. Book: How Is Daniel Feeling? (Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood) by Maggie Testa, illustrated by: Jason Fruchter: This book will provide age appropriate scenarios that highlight ways to cope with common feelings. Song: "If You're Happy And You Know It" This popular song will connect each of the emotions discussed in our lesson, pictures and story.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, my name is Ms. Brittany! I am so excited to be your child's Outschool teacher! I am a certified teacher, with a BS in Child Development and earning a Masters in Early Childhood Education. I have over 18 years of experience in education as a trainer, administrator, preschool and pre-k teacher and currently, as a kindergarten public school teacher. My teaching philosophy is that, learning should involve the whole child. Children learn by constructing their own understanding of the materials presented to them; therefore, my goal is to create an exciting, engaging and educational learning environment. I accomplish this by using story telling, songs, experiments and games that will expose your child to foundational academic skills. Outside of my passion for teaching, I enjoy reading, bike riding and spending time with my family, especially my three nephews! Thank you for your time; see you in class!
