Class Experience
This introductory class has the following goals for students: 1) To educate kids (especially those who participate in sports, gymnastics and dance) on the anatomy of bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments. 2) To inform those students on most frequently occurring sport injuries and tie in the anatomical areas affected. 3) To educate why these injuries often occur and inform of well, documented practices being done to address the injuries. ** Reminder that this class is purely informative and not designed to replace the seeking of medical advice.
Teacher experience- Doctor of Physical Therapy, Doctoral studies in Education, 39 years clinical experience as practicing Physical Therapist. 20 + years of experience treating pain management, injury prevention to a variety of ages in a clinical settings and on job sites and community educational workshops.
There are no formal homework assignments
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Informal assessment through class discussion.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
