Have you ever wanted to learn how to draw your favorite cartoon or anime character? Have you ever had fan-made character you came up with related to your favorite cartoon or anime character that you wanted to draw? In this fun class you can do both! You can learn how to draw an existing cartoon or anime character as well as an original character you came up with that’s their friend or side-kick! In this 2 session class I will help learners step by step on how to draw the existing character, and guide them on how to go about drawing their original, fan-made character. Each session will last 1 hour. The first 5 minutes will be dedicated to introductions, briefly going over what we’ll be doing and class rules. The next 50 minutes will be studio time where the learners will be drawing the picture of the provided character for that class, with my help. The last 5 minutes will be time for "Show and Tell" when the learners to show their drawings and share their thoughts about the class. Students will be provided with the reference image for the character they will be drawing by downloading a jpeg file via the classroom. Students who choose to draw an original fan character are allowed to use old drawings they may have for reference and inspiration, along with the reference image located in the classroom. Now’s your chance to practice your drawing, develop your skills and flex your creative muscles while dipping your toes into what’s it’s like to come up with an original character! Learning Goals
Students will improve by developing their technical drawing skills such as, how to use shapes, getting proportions, line work, hand to eye coordination. They will also be gaining experience with creative brainstorming and working under a deadline, giving them a feel of what it's like working within the industry and a professional enviornment.

Parental Guidance
There will be no content that requires parental guidance. All characters and images referenced to will be wholesome and family/child friendly.
Supply List
Paper/sketchbook of your choosing, pencil and eraser are all that's needed. Students have the option to use a tool for line work and color, such as a brush pen, micron, markers, colored pencils, etc. if they would like to.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I decided to offer this class to cater to students who want to learn how to draw cartoons and anime, but don't know how to get started while also introducing a fun and simple way to get started coming up with and drawing their own, original characters. Students will be in a fun, relaxed environment with likeminded classmates that are their age. This will encourage comfort and familiarity so each student won't feel awkward, out of place and discouraged.
This class is perfect for me as a teacher because it takes past and current experiences that I've had from teaching two different classes, .i.e Drawing an existing character and Drawing an original character, and combines them. This is a type of class that no other teachers on the market have offered to anyone- child or adult. You can only find it exclusively from me on Outschool.
