In this class, learners will have fun listening to books about race cars, share their favorite Hot Wheels or Matchbox cars with each other, and meet new friends! First, I will read a story about Hot Wheels. If time permits, we will also read "Formula One Race Cars on the Move" by Janet Piehl. Next, we will do show & tell, using descriptive language and practicing our listening and public speaking skills. Each child will have a chance to share their favorite cars and to describe them. Learners will practice public speaking skills, use descriptive language, use their "listening ears," and have fun socializing with other preschool-aged children.
Please bring 5-10 of your favorite small race cars (such as Hot Wheels). We may not have time to share each one, but we'll use them throughout class. Car shirts welcome and encouraged too - but not required!
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
