US Grade 3 - 5
Ancient humans were amazed and inspired by horses — the animals show up in many folklore traditions: from the Greeks' Pegasus, to the Longma of China, to Árvakr and Alsviðr who were said to pull the sun across the sky each day in Old Norse myth. Students will learn of stories about mythological horses and "equinesque" figures (centaurs, pegasus, etc.) from various ancient cultures. They will gain insight into the themes, mythological tasks, and special powers attributed to these horses. Art by Theodor Kittelsen, in the public domain **Note: I also work part-time on-call as a birth doula, and may be at a birth and need to cancel a class. In the event of this, a 1-class refund or make-up class will be offered, whichever you prefer.**
