Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Beginner Level
Do you want to learn more about horses, but don't know where to start? In these 25-minute classes, learners will be introduced to a specific topic including the names of different leg markings (coronet, sock, full stocking, half stocking) face markings (star, stripe, snip, blaze, bald), coat colors (bay, palomino, chestnut, paint, appaloosa), behavior (aggressive, playful, instinct), useful equipment (halter, bridle, saddle, bedding types) and more. All classes will be presented as a slide show so that it is visually easy to see and read. Most of the pictures shown in class will be of horses that I personally know on the farm. Discussion about each topic will be highly encouraged and will be monitored in a safe environment. No prior horse knowledge is necessary. Diverse skill levels and varieties of horse knowledge are welcome. These classes are great for learners in 4-H or Pony Club and anyone who wants to learn more about horses. As time allows, we will play a game at the end of each class to review the learned material. At least one worksheet will be provided for every class and can be completed after class for continued learning. Please bring a model horse, stuffed horse, or picture of a horse to aid in learning.

These 5 topics will be cycled again. No new topics will be added.
