Description

Class Experience

Students will workshop their horror fiction stories with peers and teacher in order to improve the quality of later drafts.
I have been writing and publishing horror for over 16 years, including short fiction works and content for horror roleplaying games. I have mentored young writers entering the horror writing industry, many of whom I have watched develop into successful, productive writers paid to work within the genre.
Students should have a work or section of a work prepared in advance as we will not write during class time.
Students receive individual feedback during class time.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Horror is often a matter of personal perception. One person may find werewolves or zombies terrifying, while another may be afraid of clowns or the dark. While all work produced for this class will be appropriate for the indicated age range in terms of content, parents should feel free to inform me of any particular phobias or other fears their children need to avoid over the course of this class.
