30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Once you start crocheting in this class, you will be hooked! In this 30 minutes class, we will be learning how to hold the yarn, tie a slip knot, and create a basic chain stitch. After a short introduction, learners will be able to follow along as I model up close the knot and chain with my document camera. This is a beginners class that will set the foundation for any future crochet projects, so no prior experience needed! Students will leave the class with a garland of their desired length, perfect for decorating bedrooms and Christmas trees.
Learning Goals
In this 30 minute course, learners will be able to successfully hold the yarn, create a slip knot and master the chain stitch independently.

Teacher expertise and credentials
When I was in 2nd grade, my mom taught me how to crochet. I have loved crocheting ever since and even helped it catch on in my third grade class. The project I am most proud of is a Chevron pattern blanket that I crocheted in just under 2 weeks. I love to share my knowledge of crochet with young learners.
