Join us for this honors mathematics with this Grade 3-4 curriculum for students who are advanced and gifted in mathematics, ready to enrich their reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. We'll use Beast Academy Online (level 3A & 3B) to learn about skip counting, times tables, and powers of 10 and more. This is part 1 of a 4 part Honors Grades 3-4 series. Students can join for any session, but it is best to have enrolled in the part 1. A personal Beast Academy account will be provided for each enrolled student at no additional cost. This course provides ample practice through class discussions, number talks, whole class practice problems, homework (2-3 hours/week), videos, and extension projects, puzzles, games, and other activities. Schedule (7 Weeks): Week 1: Skip Counting (Foundation for Multiplication) - Hundreds Chart Week 2: Skip Counting (Foundation for Multiplication) - Patterns & Word Problems Week 3: Perimeter - Rectilinear Shapes Week 4: Area - Rectilinear Shapes & Word Problems Week 5: Multiplication - Times Tables & Word Problems Week 6: Multiplication - Associative Property & Powers of Ten Week 7: Review, "Beastly Challenging" Extensions, & Puzzle Lab *Note: Beast Academy Level 3 Geometry (Shapes) is designed to be a stand alone unit, so I teach it as a separate Outschool class called Geometry I: "So Obtuse” Polygons, Projects, and More! because I include four hands-on projects in addition to covering the Beast Academy chapter to make the learning more engaging and meaningful. Beast Academy Online Licenses: Through my business, Beautiful Math Minds LLC, I have contracted for permission to integrate Beast Academy Online for commercial purposes in my Beautiful Math Minds classes and private tutoring. Therefore, each student enrolled in this course is provided a personal license for no additional cost while enrolled in this class (access will end at the end of the class for students who do not enroll in subsequent classes for quarters 2, 3, and 4). Please do NOT purchase a separate account because I will expect students to use the one I provide so I may track their progress to better inform future lessons.
