US Grade 8 - 11
Our bodies are made of more than a million amazing cells that function as a unit for us to live and thrive. This class helps the students discover what the cell is made of, how it functions as a single unit, the organization from cells -tissues-organs and Organ Systems. By the end of class, a student will be able to identify internal parts of the body (Anatomy)and how they function (Physiology.) This class is a continuation of HONORS BIOLOGY: Cell Biology, Anatomy, and Physiology 1. It covers organ systems in detail from musculoskeletal, Nervous System, Endocrine, Reproductive System, and Skin. The first weeks cover the anatomy of each organ system and later physiology for a comprehensive outlook. To perform well in class, be prepared to devote at least 1-2 hours a week for review. PS: This class will cover male and female reproductive organs in the Reproduction Unit. The student will learn how Hormones are chemicals that coordinate different functions in your body by carrying messages through your blood to your organs, skin, muscles, and other tissues. Learners will be provided with guided note-taking printable material. The classes utilize videos to enhance each lesson. We will engage in class discussions and homework activities to review each lesson. All videos watched in class will be provided for students to rewatch reinforcing each lesson. ________________________________________ BIOLOGY 102: FOR THE STUDENTS WHO DID SPRING 2023 - (11 Weeks) URINARY SYSTEM Week 1: Kidney Week 2: Nephron Week 3: Bladder _________________________ NERVOUS SYSTEM Week 4: The Neuron Week 5: CNS Week 6: PNS _______________________ MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM Week 7 and 8: Muscular System Week 9: Skeletal System ___________________________ ENDOCRINE SYSTEM Week 10: Endocrine Organs Week 11: Hormones and Functions ________________________________________ REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM Week 12: Female Reproductive System Week 13: Male Reproductive System PS: This class will scientifically cover the anatomy and physiology of the male and female reproductive organs and hormones produced and how they affect the body. _________________________________ INTEGUMENTARY SYSTEM Week 14: The Skin _____________________________________________________________________ Other Classes High School Biology ( 2 semesters) AP Biology Classes (2 Semesters)
