Come learn why Memorial Day and is so important to America and make a patriotic themed craft. In this class students will learn: -The history of Memorial Day -Who is being honored and remembered on this day -What it means to America -When this day is every year -Why it is so important to never forget sacrifices that were made so America could be a free country. While students are learning these things they will be making a simple yet meaningful patriotic craft that they can hang in their home or window after class is done. I hope to see you soon! Adults please note that while this class will be age appropriate there is discussion on war and general loss of life. Please consider if this is something you want your learner to hear about or think this topic might be too sensitive for them.

After class if your students would like to hang this craft adults may use a hole punch and string to make a loop for hanging.
Supply List
Supplies Needed: -1/2 white paper plate (please with no glossy coating as students will need to color this.) -Blue Marker -3 red streamers (or strips of construction paper) approx 1 foot long. -3 white streamers (or strips of construction paper) approx 1 foot long. -Stapler or tape After class if your students would like to hang this craft adults may use a hole punch and string to make a loop for hanging.
