Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello students and families! I am a certified secondary English and Social Science educator, published poet, and recording artist. I teach English and Foreign Languages (French, Spanish) classes including grammar classes, fiction and non-fiction stories that help students to develop their reading and analytical skills. My English Language Arts classes help students to cite text evidence, analyze, determine the main idea, author's point of view, identify figurative language, tone, setting, as well as develop critical thinking skills. Students improve their language skills in my French and Spanish tutoring sessions.
I have been teaching middle school and high school students for the past seven years in both the public and private educational systems. I have also taught English to speakers of other languages (ESOL) to adults, and have worked as a newspaper reporter in New York. I enjoy inspiring my students and watching them develop intellectually. Language and words are important to every aspect of our lives. I have also taught my students how to become authors and have helped them publish their own books as individuals or as a class project.
I enjoy posting my poems on YouTube and other social media networks. I love languages and minored in both French and Spanish in college. I also enjoy traveling and meeting people. Purple is my favorite color. I am obsessed with purple from the lightest pink-purple shade to the deepest violet-amethyst hue.
