I this one time course we will learn to make laundry soap. We will follow two different recipes for two different kinds of soap, one liquid and one powder. Both recipes use borax and washing soda. The liquid version uses Dr. Bonners Liquid Castile Soap. The powder version uses grated Fels Naptha soap. Both versions are very effective on laundry and do not have so many of the harmful chemicals that are in commercial laundry soap. They are very good for sensitive skin and much better on the environment.

The students will be able to make laundry soap for themselves.

Parental Guidance
We will be working with borax and hot water.
