This ongoing class is set up for homeschooling students who wish to meet with other kiddos around their age on a frequent basis. I am a homeschool graduate, turned homeschool mom and Museum Educator. I understand the importance of building a community for your child while homeschooling. This homeroom serves as a check-in space to talk and spend time with other children. Every week, children are invited to bring a snack, something to show and share, a BIG idea they have, a problem they would...
Learners will practice conversation skills, friendship building, and problem-solving. They will be provided opportunity to share their thoughts, interests, and opinions while also learning the value of feelings and opinions of others. Reduce fear of school failure, peer rejection, potential aggression or feelings of isolation by providing a supportive environment.
Students are invited to share and show things they are interested in, proud of, trying to figure out, and a snack if they are hungry.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
