Homeschool Social Club and Coloring: Make Friends and Get Creative (6-10)
During this weekly homeschool social club, we will have a new coloring page each week to complete while we chat. We will grow relationships with one another, encourage each other, and grow in our confidence as the class goes on. This class is a great way for your creative and social learners to gain confidence, make new friends, as well as grow in their social skills.

In this social club, for ages 6-10, we will spend our time building friendships, growing in our confidence, working on our social skills, and practicing following social cues. Each class will have a new coloring sheet, which will be posted in the classroom to be printed off before our meeting. The color sheets provide a creative and fun outlet for the learner to engage with from the very beginning of class. For our shy learners, this gives them a discussion point and something to relate to the other students right away. This also helps us keep our focus, as our young learner's brains are capable of doing so many things at once. Learners will participate in guided conversation as they color, answer a variety of fun, silly questions, share their hobbies, and find things to relate to their peers. Students will be asked to share what the best part of their week was, allowing them to give their new friends a peek into their daily lives. It also allows learners to develop social support skills while listening to their classmates share about their week. This class is sure to be a fun one for your learners, no matter how social they are! MY TEACHING STYLE: My goal as a teacher is to make each student feel seen, loved, appreciated, and encouraged throughout our class time. I desire each student to leave class feeling better and brighter than when they logged in. I believe in positive encouragement, and helping my students find their confidence in who they are, along with making sure they have fun during our time together. I graduated with a bachelor's in Psychology, specifically focused on adolescent Psychology. Bringing this information into my classrooms helps me to connect with the students, grow their social abilities, understand where they are within their formative years, and create a more inviting and safe environment for every student to learn. I have a bubbly, bright, and fun personality, and I love to spend time connecting with kids to help them grow. It is one of my greatest joys to get to teach.

NOTE TO PARENTS/GUARDIANS
I have spent the past four summers as a counselor at a large youth camp and will be continuing to do so in the upcoming year. I counsel kids between the ages of six and fourteen. I consider time teaching and impacting children and youth to be both a joy and a blessing. I have also, for the past six years, spent countless hours teaching various genres of dance classes for children of all ages. Of special importance to me has been my working with special needs children. The sheer joy on their faces as they feel a sense of accomplishment brings a special blessing to my heart.
I am the fourth of five in a homeschool family, so we've always been called upon to help each other out, to develop a strong and positive character, and to live good and responsible lives.
I am an honors college student studying child and adolescent psychology. I will graduate in December of 2021.
I am also a classically trained ballet dancer, a musician, and a published writer.
I am so extremely excited to meet your girls and to share in laughter as we chat.
