Class Experience
When I stepped onto a college campus for the first time at age 16, following ~10 years of homeschool, I was all alone. Navigating course lists, FAFSA applications, transfer tracks, and more was challenging! Now, fast forward 10+ years: I want to help you make that transition. Let me be the guide I never had and help you make the most of your last few years of homeschool and your upcoming college experience. We’ll discuss what classes to take (and what you can definitely skip!), Community College vs. 4-Year Schools, budgeting your time and money while in college, writing college essay, making friends, and more! I have extensive experience with Community College “Jump Start” programs (early enrollment) and can advise you on how to make the most of your time at a Community College. I also have extensive experience with transferring into 4-year schools from a Community College, and applying to both types of schools as a homeschooled student. My goal for this class is to create solid, meaningful connections with each student. I also hope to serve as their mentor, and help them make friends, while learning the tools to make them successful in the real world! I am also happy to set up private one-on-one tutoring sessions with students. Our session topics will be learner directed, and depend of the varied needs of the student. Prior to our class, please fill out the form you will be sent upon enrollment, as this will help us streamline our session and be productive with our time! This course is applicable to world-wide homeschoolers. I have specific experience with college / university / trade school entrance from home education / home schooling in the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe.
