One thing I have noticed more than anything in my homeschool community is just how hard it is for teens to get together and make friends. So to help alleviate this, I have been trying to coordinate meet-ups for teens in my community, but I wanted to bring that same energy to Outschool as well! I have been a high school teacher for nearly a decade, and I had an all-girls homeroom at the previous school I taught at. I am also a homeschool mom and help coordinate teen events for my homeschool community.
I will post any needed supplies in the classroom a week in advance, as well as in the course description. Supplies for crafts can cost anywhere between $5-$20.
Depending on the crafts we do, students may possibly be using pointy objects such as needles if doing needlepoint or scissors to cut out objects. Students are expected to use them safely and responsibly.
