Class Experience

Join for one or multiple sections! Each section is designed to be taken independently and does not build on previous Pod sections. Students will learn and build relationships in this pod style classroom. We will meet 3 days in a row (Tue, Wed, Thu) for one hour and 30 minutes with the same group of learners each day and as we cover the class content. This is a great option for homeschooling families, such as mine!

In this 7 weeklong course we will learn about different aspects of ELA, Science, Social Studies, Geography, Writing, and enrichment curriculums. We will have a discussion based on the daily topics through a shared screen presentation. Students will be able to work on assignments and have completed work that can be used in a learning portfolio. Regular review of material covered will be done in engaging ways, such as online quiz games or illustrating concepts. Outside work is not required but opportunities to extend classroom work is given once or twice a week. Note taking will also introduced, modeled and encouraged throughout class time. Learners will have opportunities to have input on topics within the subjects to encourage their involvement and increase interest.

We will begin class with a homeroom type format of sharing and guided discussions. This social time builds relationships and creates a positive learning environment for all students. There will be a break halfway through class for any snacks, stretching, or any brain breaks. A weekly newsletter will be provided with end of week notes and any materials needed for the upcoming week. Reminders and opportunities to print materials and gather supplies will occur at the beginning of class and break time.
