Homeschool Curriculum Support for Literacy, Numeracy & Sciences

This 1:1 class is designed for homeschooling families looking for a bit of extra support from a qualified teacher to help scaffold the teaching for your child / children.  The lessons are completely individualized to your child's and families needs and can include one, two or three of these subject areas.  Lessons will run for 45 minutes (and can be adjusted to your needs).  Lessons and subjects can be changed weekly to support your needs.  

As a Waldorf Steiner trained teacher, I can teach Waldorf Steiner curriculum, homeschool curriculum and alternatives to suit your child and their needs.

As a special education and learning support teacher, I am also able to support children with additional needs.

Some literacy skills to focus on (but not limited to):
-Structured writing skills (sentence structure, paragraphs, essay writing)

-Long Division

-Measurement

Science areas to focus on (but not limited to):
-Biology
-Geology
-Environmental Science
-Marine Biology

Each lesson will begin with warm up exercises (both physical and mental!).  We will review previous lessons through activities and games before moving on to the next lesson; this allows me to make sure the previous work has been understood before we move on.  I will look for the child's strengths in these lessons and use these to create engaging lessons for your learner.  (Some learners are visual and will need more visual aide support while others are kinesthetic learners and will need to learn more through movement.)  This is an interactive, scaffolded and engaging lesson for students to fill in gaps or move towards an area they love and are passionate to learn more about with the support of a teacher.
