If your learner is craving some social interaction, this is the perfect course! This budget-friendly class is for homeschool students who may want more time with peers. In each session, we will begin by sharing our "good things" for the week. Then, I will provide a topic and get the conversation started with some topic related questions or a quick activity. The remainder of the class will be a supervised social time where students can share what they know about the weekly topic and work on their social skills with the other learners. I will monitor the discussion to keep it on topic and appropriate, while providing new discussion ideas as needed. Learners will be asked to take turns and listen when others are sharing. Since this class is about being social, I will only mute learners if they continue to talk over others after a reminder. Learners should be in an area where they can stay unmuted for most of class. This is a weekly ongoing course. Learners can participate for as long as they like. No prerequisite knowledge is needed. This class requires a minimum of 2 learners to provide a social experience. It is capped at 5 learners to ensure that each learner has plenty of time to engage. **While I do share class recording in my academic classes, class recordings in my social clubs are not shared to protect learner privacy.** Spring 2022 Schedule (starting January) Week of 1/17 - Holidays Week of 1/24 -Board Games and Video Games Week of 1/31 -Foods Week of 2/7 -Travel Week of 2/14 -Sports and Outdoor Activities Week of 2/21 -Outer Space Week of 2/28 -Animals Week of 3/7 - Weather Week of 3/14 - Arts and Crafts Week of 3/21 & 3/28 - No Class (Spring Break Weeks) Week of 4/4 - Careers Week of 4/11 - Plants and Gardens Additional Future Topics for Fall 2022 Books, TV shows and Movies Animals

Krystal M (she/her)
I'm a homeschooling mom and college instructor living in Colorado. I have a master's degree and enjoy teaching a variety of math and life skills classes on Outschool. I teach on Outschool part-time.
Math Classes
I have experience teaching math from elementary school through college. I taught for several years in the public K-12 school system prior to moving to the college level. I love working with learners who are having trouble grasping a concept and need some extra help!
Personal Development and Executive Functioning Classes
Part of my college teaching involves working with incoming students on executive functioning skills and study skills as part of the first year college experience. Building these life skills in middle school and high school gives learners a head start on creating these important habits.
About Me
I have 3 children of my own, along with two kitties and backyard chickens. I love reading, gardening, cooking, teaching, camping and traveling.
Learning should be engaging and fun! I look forward to meeting your learner!
My policies:
I recommend that learners have their cameras on and participate fully to get the most benefit out of classes. Class recordings are not shared in social classes for learner privacy. Class recordings in academic classes will be shared if a learner was absent and needs to access what was missed.
