Teacher Alleisa Having a Bachelor's degree in Communications I have worked in many fields; including roles in sports, video production, advertisement, sales, and had my own marketing business. Working with so many people in various industries has taught me so much about what it takes to work with different people and has greatly strengthened my written and verbal communication skills. Today I have over 10 years of experience working with children ages 3-17. You may be wondering how I taught such a wide age range so I will break it down: through college I worked as nanny (0-7) and also worked as an after school teacher (ages 2-13), after graduating college I have worked as a substitute preschool teacher, a kindergarten teaching assistant, a VPK teaching assistant, a middle school volleyball coach, a Big Brother Big Sister mentor (Erica age 15), a leader for the parent activities committee at my daughters school, a parent garden club volunteer (ages 7-13), started an outreach program for low income and houseless children in my community with a local non-profit (ages 0-17), expanded the outreach program to include yoga for kids as well as math and reading help (ages 5-10), taught ESL in Spain for one year (ages 5-13) and worked at a language center in Spain on my down time teaching English to teens and some adults. BA, Communications, University of Central Florida, Orlando, Florida 2012 Florida Early Care and Education, Professional Development Hours, State of Florida, 2018-2020 Pre-School Certificate, St. Pete College, St. Petersburg, Florida 2019 Early Childhood Education, St. Pete College, St. Petersburg, Florida 2020 TEFL Certificate, International TEFL Academy, online, 2021 200hr Yoga Teaching Certificate, Pose by Pose Yoga, Tampa, Florida 2013 Teacher Autumn Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Admin, 2015 Masters of Science in Health Admin, 2020 Currently in school for my Masters of Education for my social studies license in Social Studies 6-12 A lot of my European culture background comes from living and teaching in both a public School in Spain for two years and in an international school for one year also in Spain. In both of these school settings we celebrated traditions of different countries throughout our school year. These were led by teachers from those backgrounds and we have teachers shared these experiences with our own classes. These included countries of Spain, Germany, Italy, Ukraine, India, Morocco, UK, Hungary, and Australia. Especially in the international school we had students who came from countries all across Europe and the world and this program was to celebrate these students culture and to share our own. I have bachelor and masters degree and in my undergraduate studies I took the following courses : Introduction to Geology, various World History, World and National (USA)Geography, and Mineralogy and Structure of the Earth. While I didn't major in these and took them as electives it fueled my need for learning more about the amazing geological wonders that my country had to offer. I have mentored over 200 teens over the past 6 years through my nonprofit on diversity and current events and continue to lead open group discussions regarding diversity and inclusion for individuals ages 5-18 as well as adults in a corporate setting. I have many years of experience facilitating difficult conversations regarding civil rights and African American History. I have been serving on the Women of Color Community Leadership Board for a Fortune 500 company in Diversified Outsourcing Services industry. This unique is group is a branch of their Diversity and Inclusion department. Through this position I have facilitated, created, and organized trainings on diversity and inclusion, anti racism, and holiday specific courses (history of MLK Day, Kwanzaa, Juneteenth, Indigenous Peoples' Day, and Black History Month) for the work place. In edition utilizing elective courses I have taken though my undergraduate and graduate degrees (World history, American history, North American Slavery) I also have extensively studied the books/textbooks for the purpose of teaching classes for school aged children for various non profit programs and after school organizations, and children on parents who are employed with above listed company as a company benefit on various African American heroes and events both virtually and in person.
