Homework
1 hour per week. All students in this course will gain access to an online learning program - Mathseeds and Reading Eggs as well as optional learning activities to complete daily at home. Homework is optional, but it is suggested students complete an additional 20 minutes daily of out of class assignments.

Looking for a fun, hands-on, and Reggio Inspired online 1st Grade for your child to supplement their at-home learning with you? Check out this class! For over 10 years we have worked with Early Childhood aged homeschoolers in a microschool co-op Ms. Iman started. Our curriculum is engaging, project-based, and sparks wonder in our students.

Our courses are short and done with very small groups of learners so students can really have the chance to have the attention of the teacher.

Embedded Numbers and Decompositions"
Lesson 1  Analyze and describe embedded numbers (to 10) using 5-groups and number bonds.
"Lesson 3  See and describe numbers of objects using 1 more within 5-group configurations.

Counting On from Embedded Numbers"
Lessons 6-7  Represent put together situations with number bonds. Count on from one embedded number or part to totals of 8 and 9, and generate all expressions for each total.

"Lesson 11 Solve add to with change unknown math stories as a context for counting on by drawing, writing
equations, and making statements of the solution."

Strategies for Counting On"
Lessons 14-15  Count on up to 3 more using numeral and 5-group cards and fingers to track the change.

The Commutative Property of Addition and the Equal Sign "

 Understand the meaning of the equal sign by pairing equivalent expressions and constructing true number sentences."

Lesson 21  Visualize and solve doubles and doubles plus 1 with 5-group cards.

Mathseeds is an online learning program that is optional for use for this course. Students get a free account with this course after a week of sign up. This is completely optional and up to the parent if they choose to use it at home.
