Homeroom Pod - Let's Socialize and Organize

This Homeroom class has been created as a "pod" style so that learners can meet weekly.  The format of this class will also fulfill Health/Art requirements for most homeschooling families. 

Learners will share their thoughts on a different topic each week and complete an activity.  We will foster activities to showcase each student's creativity and support a different way to learn elected material.

My teaching style is to guide an informal discussion with certain questions about different topics and encourage individual thoughts.  I have found success with having learners write or draw their ideas and goals.  Each learner will use their style for their goals.

Learners will vote on Brain Quest or Escape room style activities to keep our minds refreshed every week.
Below is a breakdown of what we will cover over the course of the class:

Week of October 9 - Binder or school portfolio organization.  Do I have to do it? Learners will learn the benefits or organizing their own binders or portfolios. Write or Draw in our Journal.

Week of October 16 - Favorite winter activity - Let's Talk Subjects -Hate or Love? - Triumphs & Goals - Write or Draw in our Journal

Week of October 23- Procrastinating -How should I keep my homework organized? How much time do I have to set aside?  Does it really matter when I start? Write or Draw in our Journal

Week of October 30- Basic Computer Skills.  Two things we want to achieve this week. - Closet refresh. Write or Draw in our Journal.

Week of November 6-  How are we keeping healthy- body and mind? Share goals to "keep moving".  Write or Draw in our Journal.

Week of November 13-  Gratitude - What are we thankful for? Let's keep up healthy habits.  Even if we are home, let's get dressed and brush our teeth daily.  Write or Draw in our Journal.

Week of November 20-Note Taking Skills

Check In on workload. Does anyone need help?- How will we avoid it?  Holiday Talk - How are we feeling? Write or Draw in our Journal.

We will continue on in this manner for each week. This is an ongoing class and each week will cover a different topic.

This is an inclusive class in which students of all abilities are welcome. If a student is unable to communicate verbally they are welcome to use the chat. If your student has any other needs that require accommodations please let me know and we will work develop a way for your learner to participate in a way that they are able.
