In this 3 week class learners will read the assigned pages each week and then be prepared to discuss the book at each meeting. Each class will involve a discussion where all learners are valued. Each week learners will write or draw about the book. (This is not an art class. Drawing helps deepen comprehension. Stick figures are fine.) Before first meeting, learners will read chapters 1 (Snow) - 26 (Not Knowing) pages 1-84. Week 1: Discuss the chapters and begin forming a theme for the book Homework: Read chapters 27 (Home) - 48 (Going Up) pages 85-166 Week 2: Discuss the chapters continue working on theme. Learners will write/draw about the important parts of the book. Homework Read chapters 49 (Hearts) - 69 (Homecoming) pages 167 - 249 Week 3: Discuss the chapters. Quick digital breakout/escape room
