Beginner - Advanced Level
Learners are invited to join the fun as we explore holidays and seasonal topics. They will choose which holiday or seasonal topic they would like to explore. Using a multimedia interactive learning guide, learners will explore the meaning, history, traditions, and celebrations associated with the holiday or seasonal topic. Each activity is an informational overview from a secular perspective. Learners will explore using LINKtivities® Interactive Learning Guide which are created with public school classrooms in mind. They look at the different holidays through a secular lens. This class does not dive deep into any culture, group, religion, or political beliefs. It is strictly intended as an informational overview only. For example, the focus is on spending time with family and friends, the traditional decorations, the traditional foods, community, etc. All the holidays are viewed using secular ideas and materials. Once registered for the class, learners will tell me which holiday or seasonal topic they’ve chosen to explore. I will send them a link to the appropriate LINKtivity® Interactive Learning Guide and the student activity pages. After exploring, learners are encouraged to complete the project that will give a snapshot of what they’ve learned. *This is a one-week, learner-directed SELF-PACED class. Learners can only choose one holiday or seasonal topic to explore in each class. If they would like to explore more than one, they are welcome to register for the class again. I encourage them to explore them all!
