30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one-time course, students will create snowflake ornaments/decorations using very basic materials while learning facts about snow and answering some STEM related questions about engineering and design (example: "Can you design and create the fastest falling snowflake?"- "Can you reverse engineer a snowflake?", etc.). Students may choose any 3 of the template options provided to complete in class. Students are invited to join this class again (at separately booked class meeting times) to complete any other snowflakes that were not originally chosen in their first lesson with the teacher. Templates for the selection of cut-out snowflakes are included in the initial "WELCOME" message after the class is booked. Please refer to the "STUDENT SUPPLY LIST" tab for a complete list of the few simple materials required for this course. It is advisable that the students print the templates cardstock or heavy grade printing paper to ensure good structure of the finished product, although they can alternatively print them on regular white printer paper, and then come to class where we will cut out the template together. --Please remember to print the templates included for this course before the scheduled time for this class, and be sure to let me know if you need additional help with these downloads at least 1 hour *before* the start of our class time. -- Thanks and I'll can't wait to get crafting with you soon!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have experience teaching students ranging from grade school ages into adulthood, tutoring 1-on-1, and teaching large groups. I was a language and art/music teacher in Europe for about a year, while traveling around Europe and the UK, where students came to learn English and study various topics through theatre and play activities. In the past, I've also taught kindergarten through 5th grade students in a US public school, and I taught ESL online for nearly 3 years as a certified teacher.
I graduated in 2017 from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts. I am currently studying front-end web design while working as a private tutor and website creator. In my free time, I enjoy playing music on my ukulele, travel photography, and baking. I have a passion for all forms of art and the creative process that comes with it.
Whatever my current situation may be, I feel motivated to empower young students to realize their academic and creative potential through meaningful play and personal mentorship. I am looking forward to creating fun and productive courses through Outschool and I look forward to seeing you in my classroom soon!
