Calling all chocolate lovers! In this one time course, students will be taught the step-by-step process to create creamy, delicious fudge. As they stir, I will share interesting facts about milk chocolate and chocolate in general. Learners are encouraged to add any knowledge they have as well. We will discuss the best practices for baking with chocolate. Students should already be familiar with reading thermometers and general kitchen safety, as well as be able to measure out ingredients...
9x13 inch pan tinfoil candy thermometer (optional, but better guarantee of perfect fudge) 3 cups sugar 2 cups chocolate chips (milk chocolate if you truly want to celebrate the day, semisweet if that's your preference) 7 oz. marshmallow creme 3/4 cup margarine 2/3 cup evaporated milk 1 t. vanilla extract chopped nuts (optional)
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will be required to stand at a lit stove for the majority of the class. Loose clothing is discouraged.
