Students will enjoy a break from the usual academic classes and create fun craft items. Each week we will do a different craft. The students will be engaged making yarn crafts, picture frames, and ornaments. Students can join this class at anytime. The students will enjoy some socializing time while crating a holiday craft that can be displayed during the holidays at home. This is great for the hands-on learners! No special skills are required, just a great attitude to try something new! Come take an academic break with us!

Students will need to use scissors at various times of the course.
Supply List
I will post the supply list for each week 1 week in advance. If you have any issues finding the items please contact me and we will see if there is an alternative. The first class the learners will need green or red yarn, scissors and popsicle sticks.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello and Welcome to my profile page! I am an elementary school teacher of 22 years. I have been an online teacher and a stay at home mom for 3 years. I have been married for 25 years and have 2 daughters ages 23 and 19. I also have a basset hound named Melody. I enjoy crafting with my Cricut, cooking/baking and road trips with the family.
I graduated from Texas State University with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Specialization in Math. For 21 years I worked with Title I students. I worked with children that have Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, Special Ed accommodations and GT students. I was also a Girl Scout leader for several years for my daughters.
I am currently teaching online with VIPKID as an ESL teacher. It has been an awesome experience sharing the English Language with the students.
My hope as a teacher is to build a sense of belonging to a group, where students can express themselves in a safe space. I want students to feel they can take chances with their learning and ask the questions no one wants to ask.
My favorite color is purple. My bedroom growing up was lavender and my bridesmaids wore deep purple in my wedding.
I can't wait to see all of your smiling faces in class!
