What's included
1 live meeting
1 hrs 30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
This one time class will allow students to create their own unique holiday greeting cards. We will start with the basics of watercolour painting to create a background. While our cards dry, we will cover some calligraphy techniques and practice writing 3 short phrases. We will then write these onto our cards, and finish them off with some adorable doodles! I will walk students through each step so that they can watch me first and then try it for themselves. I will also share some tips for achieving the best results. The class will be fun, relaxed, and informal; students will get to chat lots and we will talk about our favourite parts of the holidays! No experience is required to join this class.
Learning Goals
Students will become familiar with basic watercolour painting techniques, calligraphy, and doodling with a pen.

Teacher expertise and credentials

Hi there! My name is Kelsi—I'm happy you stumbled upon my classroom!
In my classroom, I like to turn the phrase "jack of all trades, master of none" on its head. No matter your skill level or age, there's no better way to satisfy your creative or intellectual itch than by trying new things. Here you'll find a hodgepodge of classes to satisfy any learner; from the most studious, to the most creative. Calligraphy and card making, primatology, photography, ancient ruins, evolution, books, and film are some of my dearest passions that I hope to share with you!
I have been teaching for 1 year as a community dance, art, and sports instructor, and as an online ESL teacher since September 2020. I graduated from Simon Fraser University with an honours degree in archaeology, a minor in biology, and a certificate in biological anthropology. I've always been happiest when I can pursue academic interests plus a creative outlet, so I like to cater to both avenues.
I strongly believe that exploring different interests should be accessible and fun, without the stressful commitment of visiting a stuffy classroom every week. My hope is to provide a relaxed, upbeat environment where children feel empowered to pursue their interests and grow them into lifelong passions. I love learning and my goal is to help others fall in love with learning, too!
If you have any questions or would like more information about any of my classes, please feel free to reach out. I can't wait to meet your learner!
