Beginner Level
In this 5-week self-paced sewing course for beginners, students will learn the basic functions of a sewing machine, how to thread a machine, how to use the sewing machine to create a seam, and simple hand stitching techniques. Throughout this course, students will sew 4 creative holiday projects that can be used for themselves or to give as gifts to friends and family. In Week 1, I will post a video sewing demonstration as well as step-by-step directions with photos for each project, along with the sewing lesson for week 1. With each project, I will add a supply list. The sequence of projects: Week 1: Learn the function of the sewing machine, how to thread the machine, and sew practice seams. Week 2: Hand Warmers Week 3: Coaster Week 4: Mug Cozy Week 5: Stocking Ornament I would love for students to upload photos of their projects at the end of each week. Students are encouraged to ask a question through the classroom discussion posts or by direct message. I always check messages in the classroom daily and will respond within 24 hours.
