Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Identify the elements of art, including line, shape, color, texture, and form, and the principles of design, including repetition/pattern and balance, in the environment
Create artworks using a variety of lines, shapes, colors, textures, and forms
Use a variety of materials to develop manipulative skills while engaging in opportunities for exploration through drawing, painting, printmaking, constructing artworks, and sculpting, including modeled forms
I've worked as an preschool and elementary art teacher for the past eight years, encouraging students to explore their creative interests through a variety of mediums and subjects areas.

A one-page handout with line and pattern examples (supplied by instructor) A one-page printable for tracing tessellation of student's choice (supplied by instructor, please print one on colored paper of cardstock of students choice) A one-page handout on the elements and principles of art (optional) Four pieces of white art paper or construction (optional - one colored piece of the students choice) Sharpie or permanent marker Watercolor or water based paint set Markers or colored pencils Oil pastels or crayons Red and green tempera or fingerpaint** Old sponge, piece of Styrofoam, or cardboard scrap for stamping ** If you do not have tempera paint, an easy recipe can be found here http://www.craftychild.com/homemade-paint.html)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Final product only
3 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
