Holiday Animal Art: Christmas Santa Pug Dog Sketch
Class experience
In this one-time drawing course, students will learn the basics of drawing a realistic pug puppy portrait dressed in a Santa hat and scarf. Students will learn techniques to draw a proportionate pug portrait (head to chest) using pencil. To start class, I teach students techniques for drawing a proportionate contour drawing (outline). After completing the contour drawing, I teach students various shading techniques as we begin to add detail and bring our art to life! We practice shading...
Students will learn techniques for drawing a proportionate pug puppy portrait (head to chest) wearing a Santa hat and scarf. Students will learn techniques for drawing with pencil (e.g., shading, adding contrast, etc.).
I have been drawing animal portraits for nearly ten years. It is what I love to draw most of all!
Homework Offered
If your student does not finish their pug portrait in class, I encourage them to finish it outside of class.Assessments Offered
Students will be assessed throughout class and at the end of class through questions and sharing of drawings.Grades Offered
REQUIRED FOR STUDENTS: -Paper (Preferably drawing paper, but if you do not have this, regular paper is fine.) -Pencil -Eraser -Pencil sharpener -Blending tool (We will practice blending skills a lot in this class. If you do not have blending stumps, please bring a tissue and/or a Q-Tip. If you are unable to get these supplies, students are fine to use their fingers to blend.) WHAT THE TEACHER WILL BE USING (OPTIONAL): -Drawing paper OR Sketchbook (You can purchase a sketchbook for around $10 on Amazon. Please, no bigger than 9 x 12 inches.) -Wooden pencil -Pencil sharpener -Kneaded eraser (You can purchase a kneaded eraser for around $5 on Amazon.) -Regular everyday eraser -Drawing pencils (You can purchase drawing pencils for around $10 on Amazon.) -Blending stumps (You can purchase blending stumps for around $5 on Amazon.)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
