Hola! An Introduction to Informal and Formal Spanish Greetings
In this two-week class, students will learn to address friends and others they are not familiar with using informal or formal greetings in Spanish (eg. hola/¿Cómo te va?) and (¿Cómo está usted?).
Class experience
Students will be introduced to Spanish formal and informal greetings through drills, role-plays, and songs in our two-part lesson. Informal greetings will be taught in the first week, followed by formal greetings in the second week. Students will differentiate between the two types of greetings, thus learning how to address friends, strangers, and adults appropriately. Also, total physical responses will be incorporated along with games (Canva and Word Wall), and scenarios to have children...
This class is taught in English.
I taught this lesson for ten years to students taking Spanish for the first time in the sixth grade. I am very comfortable imparting this knowledge to all students.
