Welcome to our Spanish class for little learners! I'm excited to offer your children a vibrant and interactive learning experience that's been thoughtfully designed to captivate and educate young minds. As a native-speaking instructor with over 10 years of experience in teaching languages, I understand the importance of nurturing a child's natural curiosity. My approach leverages the advantages of being a native speaker to provide your children with an authentic introduction to the Spanish language, wrapped in fun and age-appropriate activities. ✨ Learn with delightful Spanish stories and songs, perfect for emergent speakers who are new to online learning! 📖 Our tales will be told on a soft flannel board, accompanied by catchy tunes and playful fingerplays to enhance our language adventure. 🌈 Why Flannel Boards? 🤔 Flannel stories engage your little ones as they watch narratives come to life. These boards are fantastic tools for teaching visual literacy—children observe and make sense of the colorful scenes before them, linking them to their own experiences. 🙌 Participation Time! 🎶 Prepare for a symphony of sounds! Tiny voices will echo animal noises and fun sound effects—all while learning Spanish! Children are welcome to participate, but if they prefer, they can simply listen and enjoy the experience. 💃 Dance moves and melodies will enrich our storytime, making Spanish learning joyful and memorable! Here's what your little ones can look forward to in our classes: All classes will have: A welcome song A Story and Song A goodbye song An after class PDF to print out for your learners enrichment Week 1: Introducing Ourselves Song: "Hola Amigos" (Hello Friends) Activity: "Pete el Gato: Yo amo mis zapatos blancos" – A felt story about Pete the Cat and his shoes, discussing colors as they change. Week 2: Under the Sea Song: "Pecesitos Resbalosos" (Slippery Fish) Activity: "Pecesitos Resbalosos" – A felt story where children learn about sea creatures and practice counting. Week 3: Getting Dressed Song: "Froggy Se Viste" (Froggy Gets Dressed) Activity: "Froggy Se Viste" – A felt story to teach clothing items as Froggy gets dressed for the day. Week 4: Counting with Pete Song: "Pete el Gato y sus cuatro botones" (Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons) Activity: "Pete el Gato y sus cuatro botones" – A felt story focusing on subtraction as buttons pop off Pete's shirt. Week 5: Fun with Food Song: "Soy una Pizza" (I'm a Pizza) Activity: "Soy una Pizza" – A felt story that introduces food vocabulary and the process of making a pizza. Week 6: Ducks in a Row Song: "Cinco Patitos" (Five Little Ducks) Activity: "Cinco Patitos" – A felt story for counting ducks as they disappear and reappear. Week 7: Frogs and Logs Song: "Cinco Ranitas" (Five Little Speckled Frogs) Activity: "Cinco Ranitas" – A felt story that combines counting with the playful antics of frogs. Week 8: Monkey Business Song: "Monos y Gorras" (Caps for Sale) Activity: "Monos y Gorras" – A felt story about a cap seller and monkeys that teaches counting and colors. Join us for captivating stories and songs where every moment is a step towards learning Spanish in the most enjoyable way! This session is ideal for emergent speakers and newcomers to online learning. 🎒 Note to Parents: I want to emphasize that my Spanish class is designed with early learners in mind. I understand that each child is unique and many go through a listening phase before feeling comfortable actively participating. In my classes, I celebrate this stage of auditory learning and encourage children to immerse themselves in the new language at their own pace. Children are welcome to participate in activities and songs, but they will never be forced to do so. My goal is to create a positive and pressure-free learning environment where a love for the language can naturally blossom. I value your child's curiosity and comfort above all, and I am committed to guiding them through this linguistic adventure with patience and joy.
