Students will study 1 of the main writing systems of Japanese - Kanji Students will be introduced to Japanese Kanji characters in various topics. Students will learn the vocabulary for various topics: nature, family, beauty, colors and more! Students will write the beautiful Japanese Kanji characters they learned. Students will start their journey of leaning Japanese in a fun and artistic way!
Teacher Lynn (リン 先生) completed her Master’s degree in Oita, Japan. She was a teaching assistant for Japanese middle school, high school, and university in-person classes in Japan. She has been living in Japan for 6 years (since 2017). Teacher Lynn not only intensely studied the Japanese language, but fell in love with Japanese culture and discovered the passion for sharing such a beautiful language with students. She has been a private Japanese online tutor for over 3 years. Teacher Lynn has also taught Chinese students for 4 years (since 2019).
Homework Offered
Homework worksheets will be provided on the Outschool platform classroom forum for students to practice writing and reading individually. ** Homework completion is not required, but recommended for the Japanese learning experience. All completed homework is reviewed by Teacher Lynn リン 先生.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Students will be asked to show their Japanese Kanji characters writings. Students will answer questions weekly on the Outschool platform classroom forum to assess their understanding. Self-assessment activities will also be provided. Links for the Vocabulary Review on Memrise and Quizlet, and Game on Kahoot will be provided by Teacher Lynn リン 先生.Grades Offered
