Students will realize that they already know some Japanese words (they just didn’t know it!) Students will be familiarized with common Japanese words. Students will be introduced to family, places, food and common vocabulary in Japanese. Students will start their journey of leaning Japanese in a fun and exciting way!
Teacher Lynn (リン 先生) completed her Master’s degree in Oita, Japan. She was a teaching assistant for Japanese middle school, high school, and university in-person classes in Japan. She has been living in Japan for 6 years (since 2017). Teacher Lynn not only intensely studied the Japanese language, but fell in love with Japanese culture and discovered the passion for sharing such a beautiful language with students. She has been a private Japanese online tutor for over 3 years.
Homework worksheets will be provided on the Outschool platform classroom forum for students to practice writing and reading individually. Links for Vocabulary practice on Memrise and Game on Kahoot will be provided by Teacher Lynn リン 先生. ** Homework completion is not required, but recommended for the Japanese learning experience. All completed homework is reviewed by Teacher Lynn リン 先生.
Notebook and Pencil are recommended to take notes. **To submit the completed homework worksheets, students may need a printer and scanner, or a program that allows them to write on the pdf homework worksheet files and they can take a screenshot/photo. (Please contact Teacher Lynn if there is a difficulty submitting the completed homework worksheets.)
Students will answer questions weekly on the Outschool platform classroom forum to assess their understanding. Self-assessment activities will also be provided.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
All content provided by Teacher Lynn リン 先生 is appropriate for all students of every background. Parental guidance is recommended, but not required for the 3rd party websites: Youtube, Lexilogos, Memrise, and Kahoot. Login may be required for the websites. No additional costs to use the websites.
