Students will realize that they already know some Japanese words (they just didn’t know it!) Students will study 1 of the main writing systems of Japanese - Katakana. Students will be familiarized with Japanese Katakana vocabulary words. Students will write their name in Japanese Katakana. Students will start their journey of learning Japanese in a fun and exciting way!
Teacher Lynn (リン 先生) completed her Master’s degree in Oita, Japan. She was a teaching assistant for Japanese middle school, high school, and university in-person classes in Japan. She has been living in Japan for 6 years (since 2017). Teacher Lynn not only intensely studied the Japanese language, but fell in love with Japanese culture and discovered the passion for sharing such a beautiful language with students. She has been a private Japanese online tutor for over 3 years..
Homework Offered
Homework worksheets will be provided on the Outschool platform classroom forum for students to practice Hiragana writing and reading individually. ** Homework completion is not required, but recommended for the Japanese learning experience.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Students will answer questions weekly on the Outschool platform classroom forum to assess their understanding. Self-assessment activities will also be provided. Links for Vocabulary Practice Review on Memrise and Game on Kahoot will be provided by Teacher Lynn リン 先生.Grades Offered

Notebook and Pencil are recommended to take notes. **To submit the completed homework worksheets, students may need a printer and scanner, or a program that allows them to write on the pdf homework worksheet files and they can take a screenshot/photo. (Please contact teacher Lynn if there is a difficulty submitting the completed homework worksheets.)
All content provided by Teacher Lynn リン 先生 is appropriate for all students of every background. Parental guidance is recommended, but not required for the 3rd party websites: Youtube, Memrise, Kahoot, and Lexilogos. Login may be required for the websites. No additional costs to use the websites.
